About CEO Trader
We track one thing, and we try to do it honestly.
When a chief executive spends their own money buying shares of the company they run — on the open market, at the market price, with no obligation to do so — it is one of the few signals in markets that is hard to fake. They have more information about the business than anyone, and they are choosing to put personal capital behind it. CEO Trader exists to surface those moments, score them consistently, and track what happens next without moving the goalposts.
What we do
Every weekday we scan SEC Form 4 filings for CEO open-market purchases — not option exercises, not grants, not automatic plans. Each qualifying purchase is scored across six factors (see our methodology), and every BUY or STRONG BUY opens a hypothetical $100 position alongside a matching $100 in SPY, so performance is always measured against the market. The full ledger lives on the track record and the dated 2026 performance report.
What we refuse to do
- No stock tips. We publish analysis and opinions for education. We never tell you what to buy or sell.
- No hype. No "10x" promises, no urgency timers, no fake scarcity. The numbers are what they are.
- No hidden losers. Every tracked position — winners and losers — stays visible. A track record that only shows wins is marketing, not a record.
- No selling your data. We don't run ads and we don't sell or share personal data with advertisers. See our privacy policy.
How it's funded
One subscription, $3.99 a month, cancel anytime. That's the entire business model. We are not paid by any company we cover, we don't take affiliate commissions on brokerages, and we don't sell a "premium signals" upsell. The incentive is simple: be useful enough that you keep the subscription.
Honesty about the limits
Insider buying is a real, academically documented edge — but it is a probabilistic one, strongest over months and across many signals, not a guarantee on any single stock. Our analysis layer uses AI and can be wrong. Our portfolio is hypothetical and assumes frictionless fills. We say all of this plainly because a tool you can trust is one that tells you where it can fail. Read the full disclaimer and the data sources we rely on.
